This Turkish restaurant on Great Titchfield Street certainly looks a class above your average kebab joint. Most of that comes from an interesting interior with abstract art, Victorian-style studded seating and Ottoman lights – there's even crisp white linen. The food looks the part, too.
The menu kicks off with mezze, with options including houmous, tabouleh, falafel, deep-fried calamari and sautéed king prawns cooked in garlic butter and served with a tomato sauce. Mains go big on kebabs, mixed grills, lamb cutlets and Turkish stews. Pasta dishes and seafood options also feature.
Desserts are traditional. Expect homemade baklava, kadayif, sekerpare and firin sütlaç - a Turkish rice pudding. Keep an eye out for special offers and set menus, too.
