Clapton’s Chatsworth Road sure is old. In the ’30s it had up to 200 stalls peddling their wares up to five days a week. After the war the market dwindled and finally petered out in 1990 leaving Chatsworth Road slightly bereft. In November 2010, a band of locals and traders aimed to bring back the bustle and campaigned to get the market back on its feet. After two successful test runs, Chatsworth returned regularly with more than 40 stalls selling gourmet foods, vintage bric-a-brac, crafts, cakes and preserves, clothing, jewellery – and more than its fair share of hipsters. You’ll recognise a handful of traders from Broadway Market, but there's also plenty of fresh produce available at the Sunday Morning Market – a few steps away at Rushmore Primary School (www.sundaymorningmarket.blogspot.com) – where you'll find fruit and veg, posh breads, homemade cakes and more bric-a-brac.

Just get there on a Sunday for the cheese at the Raw Cheese Power stall. Best cheese selection in London.
We love this little market! Loads of super tasty food and always really friendly. Hope it gets pedestrianised soon as they are trying for!
A brilliant friendly Sunday street market with lots of interesting food stalls, clothes, fresh organic vegetables, flowers, cheese, cakes, jewellery and bric-a-brac - perfect to while away the day. Chatsworth Road is full of cafes and when the market closes you can just amble over to the Elderfield pub who have free jazz sessions in the afternoon.
Run by local volunteers to bring a bit of sunshine to a Sunday stroll around Clapton. Always a great selection of stalls and places to eat.
Brilliant local market, lovely food, nice vibes, ,friendly stall holders. Great veg stall in teh school too!
Enuff already. I regularly buy bread at Percy Ingle and get jerk chicken from Too Sweet at least once a week - I also trade and shop at the market - you can do both!
