Essential guide to the online January sales

  • ASOS

Known for its brilliant perennial sales, ASOS comes into its own during January. The titans of online shopping have plenty of budget buys to choose from, but fifties enthusiasts should seek out the own brand Fluffy Shell Top With Zip Back (half price, now £15), while the more daring among you will love the Midi Skirt In Rainbow Metallic Leopard Print, now £27 down from £45.

  • Bodie and Fou

Bringing a slice of French chic to online shopping, Bodie and Fou has some brilliant gifts and lifestyle products up its sleeve for the sale season. There’s up to 50 per cent off various lines including some appealing artists’ prints, coo-inducing babywear, books, home accessories and clothing.

  • Farfetch

Some of the world’s coolest designer gear is just a click away at Farfetch.com. The site scours the best boutiques for top apparel and accessories and, in honour of the January sales, is taking up to 50 per cent off its prices. Look out for sterling buys such as the statement ankle wedge boots by Camilla Skovgaard, now £180, originally £359.

  • Future Classics

If mainstream designer labels and it-bags aren’t for you, try avant-garde premium label Future Classics, which will be offering 30-50 per cent off its A/W collections. Click to FC’s online shop to find beautiful draped jersey dresses, cool prints and soft tailoring such as a Cape Trench reduced from £925 to £683. Perfect for hiding that post Christmas muffin top.

  • Lucashugh.com

There’s no need to look a shambles while attempting to maintain your January resolution to get fit. Click on to online store Lucas Hugh and treat yourself to high performance sportswear with a chic twist. The sale offers up to 50 per cent off – meaning even the cash-strapped among us might be able to stretch to the brand’s gorgeous pair of yellow print Peter Pan leggings, down from £150 to £75. Sale ends January 15.

  • My Wardrobe

The My-wardrobe sale will have label lovers frothing at the mouth, with pieces from Diane Von Furstenburg, Acne, Malene Birger and the much lauded fashion favorite 3.1 Phillip Lim all reduced by up to 50 per cent. Pimp up your outfits with Hammered earrings by Kenneth Jay Lane (now £32 down from £46), or watch out for the Ada animal leopard print jumper from Alice by Temperly now £172 (down from £245).

  • Rapanuiclothing.com

Ideal for eco-warriors, Isle of Wight-based brand Rapanui sell T-shirts and sweats that are organic and ethically produced – and with nary a hemp trimming in sight. Most tees will be reduced by 20 per cent to a reasonable £19.95. For those of a preachy persuasion, the ‘Reduce Reuse Recyle’slogan tee is now under £20, as is the super soft Che koala top made using Eucalyptus fibres.
