London Fashion Week: meet the bloggers

We chat to the London’s top style bloggers about Fashion Week

Ahead of Fashion Week we caught up with some of the biggest names in blogging to get their take on London style, fashion tweeters and how to kick-start a successful blog.

If you want to experience a who’s who of the fashion industry then look no further than stylist-turned-photographer Jackie Dixon’s blog, ShowMeYourWardrobe. Featured monthly in Elle magazine, Jackie lives out every girl’s fantasy by snooping through the closets of London’s most stylish, from Florence Welch to Henry Holland, before snapping them for her blog. She also shoots for InStyle and The Sunday Times STYLE magazine among others and has worked with brands including Selfridges, Tommy Hilfiger and The Kooples.

What or who inspired you to start your blog?

I had been styling the actress/singer Juliette Lewis for about a year when I realised that I had heaps of photos of her in all the different looks I'd made up for her. Each time we put a look together I used to take a photo of her for reference. This got me thinking....and ShowMeYourWardrobe was born.

What advice would you give to someone who wanted to start their own blog?

Think of a really strong and clear idea and stick to it. Don't veer off and don't be concerned with what other people are doing. And above all else enjoy it!

You've photographed the great and the good of the fashion industry for SMYW, whose wardrobes have you most enjoyed having a look around?

People who have a really strong sense of self and style - Coco Sumner, Florence Welch and Skin from Skunk Ananse. They are all very comfortable in their own skin, which I like.

Which LFW SS12 shows are you most looking forward to and why?

I really enjoy the Topshop shows because they are so high-octane, packed and always have great girls.

Whose tweets will you be following closely during fashion week?

Definitely my friend @nataliehartley who is the senior fashion editor of InStyle magazine.

Which London cafes, restaurants, museums, shops or bars do you like to hang out and relax in between shows?

There's no time! I'd love to be able to say I relax at fabulous café between shows but I barely get time to eat let alone relax.

Are you working on any projects for London Fashion Week you can tell us about?

Last season I accompanied Olivia Palermo to all the shows and parties as I was shooting her exclusively for MarieClaire magazine. I can't say what I'm doing this season just yet but I can tell you that I am teaming up with Tommy Hilfiger for Vogue Fashion’s Night Out on September 8. Come to the store on Regent Street to be styled prep-style by Vogue Fashion Editor, Miranda Almond, and snapped by me. It will be a lot of fun, I promise!
