Time Out says

This acclaimed journey through Robert Mugabe’s life and times opens the new Brixton House theatre

Tonderai Munyevu’s semi-autographical show won acclaim as a touring production last year; now it opens London’s newest theatre, Brixton House (technically a new incarnation of long-running institution Ovalhouse, but in a new venue, new location and with a new leadership team). ‘Mugabe, My Dad and Me’ is an artful, non-linear account of Robert Mugabe’s rise and moral downfall, as viewed through the lens of his relationship with Munyevu’s father and contextualised via Mugabe’s struggles against British colonialism. It’s also blessed by evocative live mbira music, from Millie Chapanda.
