See the Dark Mark hovering over Warner Bros Studio Tour London? No? Well, come autumn, it’s certainly there in spirit.

From September 27 for six weeks only, the Studio Tour is spiced with added Dark Arts features. The Great Hall set is decorated for a Halloween feast complete with handmade floating pumpkins, Diagon Alley has a spookier air, and there’s a chance to see a gathering of Death Eaters at Malfoy Manor.

So, brave foot forward. Here’s what to look out for…

The face of the Death Eaters

The face of the Death Eaters

Brand new this year, Dark Arts includes your chance to find out first-hand from crew, some of who worked in the Art Department whilst filming, how each intricate, unique mask for this sinister tribe of the Dark Lord’s servants was created, from concept to finished article. Members of the crew will be on hand to demonstrate how the hand-etched visages were designed to reflect the personality of their owners.

Wand Combat

How good is your aim? Master handling a wand for yourself during a live duel with the Death Eaters, only during Dark Arts season.

Voldemort’s Wand

See it up close for yourself. Pretty sure it’s safe now.  Designed to resemble a human bone, Voldemort’s wand even has a honeycomb-like texture like real bone, and a knuckle joint. See where, during filming, Ralph Fiennes would wrap his little finger round the claw-like hook at the end.

Nagini

Even the most enthusiastic ophiophilist will be glad to know that the original model of Voldemort’s faithful 20-foot snake, as seen so chillingly realistic in the films, is displayed at arm’s length. Find out all about the ruthless reptile – recently encountered in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, when she was still human – including how filmmakers studied snake behaviour and even had a professional snake handler on set.

Snot, drool and blood

With so many battles and beasts, there was a high demand for goo during the making of the Harry Potter film series. See how silvery unicorn blood, Troll snot and the dribble of a three-headed dog were all made. You can get ‘hands-on’, too, if you really want to.

Ever wished that you could join one of those incredible feasts in the Great Hall? Yeah us too. Well, this October you can do just that, because Warner Bros. Studio Tour London is welcoming all witches, wizards and muggles to an evening of Dark Arts, dining and an exclusive, after-hours look around the Studio Tour.

You’ll start off the evening with some cocktails and canapés, followed by a two-course dinner beneath floating pumpkins in the Great Hall. Then, you’ll wander around the Studio Tour after everyone else has gone home, before sampling dessert in the Forbidden Forest and Butterbeer in the Backlot Café.

And not only that, you can join in a ‘wand choreography’ interactive session and pick up pumpkin-making tips from the impressive Prop Making Department.

Early booking is essential and tickets will go on sale on Tuesday 30th July at 10am. For more information, or to book, visit www.wbstudiotour.co.uk/after-dark
