Britain owes much of its great twentieth century art to Jewish émigrés: Frank Auerbach, Lucian Freud and Leon Kossoff all brought strong Jewish voices to the scene. Jewish design has assimilated into British life in an equally powerful (albeit subtle) way. ‘Designs on Britain’ looks at 20 individuals who helped import European styles to British life. On the bill are Raleigh’s Chopper bike (Tom Karen), early iterations of Penguin books (Romek Marber) and even the humble London bus stop (Hans Schleger).
