Kensington Palace's doors are once again open to the public, and the timing couldn't be more apt in this Jubilee year. Once home to Queen Victoria and the Princess of Wales, it will now be the residence of a new generation of royals. The rooms have been transformed into interactive experiences, showcasing work by contemporary installation artists alongside exhibits from the palace's collection.

The Queen's Apartments are cosier and more intimate than the King's, and there are several art installations depicting the turbulent lives of the Queens who lived there, in particular Queen Mary II. The whispering sound installation conveys to visitors the impression of what was a precarious era for the Stuart line during the seventeenth century.
