Six royal beds lie at the heart of this temporary exhibition at Hampton Court Palace. Through stories about royals and servants, it will show how the bedchamber became the most important destination in the palace, and reveal the elaborate and sometimes bizarre bedchamber rituals, unusual sleeping arrangements and decadent excesses of the Stuart and Hanoverian courts. You'll leave knowing how heirs were born, marriages consummated, monarchs were struck down and died, and how important affairs of state were conducted in this most personal of rooms. Watch out for the crafty servants – who will (April 2-September 30) share the fruits of their eavesdropping and keyhole-peaking.
