Martyn Ware, of Heaven 17 and Human League fame, has teamed up with artistic director David Bickerstaff to create this sonic experience on the Millennium Bridge. The piece, billed as a 'three-dimensional soundscape', takes pedestrians on a journey through the story of London and its people as they cross the river. It features an hour-long, looping, ambient electronic musical composition merged with a spoken narrative written by the poet Mario Petrucci and voiced by Mia Austen and Steven Alexander.
In addition, at the start of each hour, a virtual choir performs 'Water Night', written by composer Eric Whitacre, based on a short poem by Octavio Paz.
