Mark Bradford: Scorched Earth

LA native Mark Bradford revisits the city’s most troubled decades (think 1990’s LA riots, 1980s AIDS crisis, and more difficult and historic times) through a series of 12 representational and larger-than-life paintings. Bradford focuses on the emotional and physical side of LA's not-so proudest moments. See these abstract and vibrant interpretations at the Hammer Museum from June 20 to September 27.
