Kick off the LA Times Festival of Books with a cheeky before-party at the Bootleg Theater. Hosted by erudite darlings The Rumpus, The Nervous Breakdown and 826LA's Hot Dish reading series, the scintillating evening will feature readings from a spattering of LA authors and comedy by Ted Travelstead, underscored by DJ stylings from Mira Gonzalez. Cocktail consumption and witty literary banter guaranteed. Tickets are $7 in advance or at the door.
