The LA Conservancy offers a wonderful time-machine trip by screening classic films along with live entertainment in Downtown's grand old movie palaces throughout the month of June. Tonight's feature is Footlight Parade. Choreographer Busby Berkeley is the true star of this delightful backstage musical—which is saying a lot, since the cast includes not only Joan Blondell, Ruby Keeler and Dick Powell, but also James Cagney as a tyrannical director. In addition to the film, enjoy live pre-show organ music as well as a stage show, "The Lullaby of Broadway," a tribute to 1930s movie music. The fest's shows are known to sell out before the series opens, so get your tickets online ahead of time.
