Shot using some of the props from the original James Whale Frankenstein pictures, Mel Brook's instant classic is one of the most inventive and hysterical genre spoofs ever made, in part because it features the young Gene Wilder at his manic best. Celebrate the 40th anniversary of this comedy staple in all its black-and-white glory at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Admission will cost you a mere $5 ($3 for students and Academy members). Plus, Mel Brooks himself will be there in the flesh, rendering your presence at this screening an absolute necessity.
