Tanabata Celebration at Hinoki & the Bird

If you’re in need of a place to celebrate the Tanabata Star Festival—a Japanese holiday commemorating the annual meeting of the stars Altair and Vega—look no further than Hinoki & the Bird. Every Tuesday–Friday night throughout July, the restaurant will host an intimate reservation-only dinner for 10 people. The colorful five-course meals are unpredictable, since the ingredients depend on what chefs Brandon Kida and Kei-Ichi Kurobe find at the market on any given day.
