The 7 best cooking classes for kids in L.A.

1. Kids Cooking Camp at BLVD. Kitchen

If your child is interested in learning everything there is to know about working in a kitchen, consider enrolling them in this summer cooking camp. Each week, children ages 6-10 will spend three mornings working with an acclaimed professional chef to create fun and accessible recipes and learning skills like kitchen safety. Students will learn to bake, prepare dishes like sushi, pizza and burgers and learn about the history and science of cooking.

2. Teen and Tween Cooking Camp at Radical Cooks

Older children and young adults looking to learn how to cook should consider a course like this cooking camp for 12-17 year olds. This program lasts for a week and everyday, students will learn practical skills like navigating the kitchen and using knives and each day will cover a different global cuisine, introducing students to the diversity of food options globally. All of the meals prepared in class will be eaten for lunch or taken home for dinner and the menu is 90% vegetarian (with additional substitutions available). Students will also take home their kitchen apron and a cookbook containing all of the recipes they made in camp and many, many more.
