Mates of State

Mates of State's Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel make indie pop that's almost too joyous. The husband-and-wife duo's cute, bubblegum voices weave around one another until they fall into harmonic step over shimmering synths and glittering piano. They haven't released an album since Mountaintops in 2011, but this show at Echo Park's Bootleg HiFi should help tide fans over. Utah outfit Fictionist will open the night.
