Any cursory exploration of early folk music makes it clear that when love turned deadly, someone was usually around to sing about it. This evening of homicidal love songs is hosted by the New LA Folk Fest, and will feature acts from great local performers such as RT N' the 44s, Black Hole Oscillators and Christian Lee Hutson from the Driftwood Singers, among others. Turns out, people love to play—and hear—ballads about bodies floating in rivers and (literal) back stabbings. Date night, anyone?
