Pellicola Pizzeria

A pizzeria open until 3am? Our drunken prayers have been answered. Pellicola Pizzeria lies a quick stumble away from multiple Downtown bars, meaning that when the lights come on at closing hour, this is where you head to cap off the night. Using San Marzano tomato sauce on all of their pies, each pizza is topped with fresh ingredients and housemade cheese. Try the Tricolore, made with mozzarella, pesto and truffle oil. There are vegetarian and vegan options as well and—get this—you can make your pie gluten-free for a few extra dollars.

We didn't want to bother finding parking in DTLA so we went for pickup. Good pricing for the portion sizes, and pretty solid taste-wise.

Pellicola's pies are delicious, no doubt about it. They're also kind and incredibly patient when post-bar crowds roll in. The only downsides here are a lack of comfy chairs (tall stools litter the venue, but not enough to go around) and a door that won't stay closed. Also, if you're not comfortable with DTLA at night (homeless folks, a slight urine smell), this might not be the place for you. For me, pizza trumps all discomforts, especially pizza this good.

This is a fun, hip pizzeria that is definitely worth a visit when you're in DTLA. They have so many options, including gluten-free and vegan. It was honestly one of the best gluten-free pizzas I've ever had! Definitely recommend coming here, also for the incredible service!

Pellicola is the best! They screen movies every so often on the back brick wall of their pizza shop, so you can watch classics while you chow down on slices of cheese, pepperoni, vegetarian, Hawaiian and more. They're also super accommodating—say, when you walk into the store and ask for a gluten-free pie, half vegetarian, make sure the pepperoni doesn't touch the dividing line.

Oh, and the garlic knots are bomb.

The best option for good, late night eats in DTLA. The pizza is tasty and garlic knots are absolutely to die for.

It's not impossible to find amazing pizza-by-the-slice in Los Angeles, but you do have to know where to look. Pellicola Pizzeria is one the best pizza places in DTLA, if not all of Los Angeles. They have a great menu of fun pies and everything there is top notch.
