If the last three books you read were about a lead character named Christian, Bella or Katniss, you might want to broaden your horizons. Come to the Pen Center 22nd Annual Literary Awards Festival, which will this year honor Morgan Entrekin (publisher of Grove/Atlantic Books), Lara Logan (chief foreign affairs correspondent for CBS News), Joyce Carol Oates (Pulitzer Prize–nominated writer), and Robert Scheer (editor-in-chief of Truthdig.com). The evening begins with a cocktail hour and silent auction, and then a sit-down dinner with awards presentation. As the only West Coast event of its kind, it often attracts nearly 400 guests, so there's a good chance you'll be able to find someone willing to debate Team Edward vs. Team Jacob.
