Speed Art Museum says
Friday, October 28th will be Palaver’s first public event and will be thematically centered around the connection between tobacco and its historic ties to the railroad. As tobacco cultivation increased in the rich Kentucky soils, the railway grew in tandem to help distribute the harvest across America, and move labor throughout the country. Moore explains, “We will host an event at Palaver which reflects this chapter of Kentucky tobacco history, looking through the lens of distribution—not only of a product, but also as a method of sharing stories and cultural ideas along the rails. This rich tradition continues today, as we will experience through a night of film and performances.”

The event will include a projection screening of Bill Daniel’s film Who Is Bozo Texino? and railroad music performances by Louisville musician John Paul Wright. Hearty autumnal food with vegetarian options and beverages will available for purchase through Wiltshire at the Speed.
