The event creator says
Kentucky Interfaith Power and Light and the Louisville Sustainability Council are partnering up to give native plant species a fighting chance.

Many of the wooded areas around the Passionist Earth and Spirit Center are overrun with Asian Bush Honeysuckle. This invasive plant is slowly taking over many of Kentucky's natural wooded areas. The honeysuckle's dense leaf canopy shades the forest floor and deprives the new growth of native species from receiving sunlight. This loss of native plants also destroys habitat for Kentucky animals and insects.

On April 26 at 1 pm we will be gathering to remove the Asian Bush Honeysuckle from these woods. Help us to give the woods near the Passionist Earth and Spirit Center a new start!
