These community meetings are designed to give citizens a chance to meet directly with Jefferson County legislators.

The meetings are a 2015 Bingham Fellows project called Cafe Louie, in partnership with the Louisville Free Public Library, the Leadership Louisville Center and the Friends of the Library.

The series, scheduled while the 2016 General Assembly is expected to be in session, will feature one or two members of the Jefferson County Legislative Delegation and will be at a branch library. All meetings will be on a Saturday morning through early April and be from 9 to 10 a.m. Citizens are encouraged to come and ask questions.

Additional dates and legislators are expected to be confirmed at sites, and other meetings may be scheduled. The current dates are:

Jan. 30: Shively branch, 3920 Dixie Highway -- Sen. Gerald Neal, Rep. Joni Jenkins.

Feb. 6: Fairdale branch, 10616 Manslick Road -- Rep. Jeffrey Donohue.

Feb. 13: Iroquois branch, 601 W. Woodlawn Ave. -- Rep. Denny Butler.

Feb. 20: Middletown branch, 200 Juneau Drive -- Sen. Paul Hornback.

March 5: Southwest Regional, 9725 Dixie -- Sen. Perry Clark, Rep. Charlie Miller.

April 2: Shawnee branch, 3912 W. Broadway -- Rep. Darryl Owens.
