ABOUT THE VOICES INSIDE: A PRISON PLAY SERIES

Now in its third year of collaboration with the Apprentice/Intern Company at the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Voices Inside: A Prison Play Series is a free monthly reading of new ten-minute plays, written by inmates at the Northpoint Training Center, a medium-security prison in Burgin, KY. Several of the plays produced through Voices Inside have won national playwriting competitions under the tutelage of Robby Henson, artistic director of the Pioneer Playhouse in Danville, KY. This series is free and open to the public.


ABOUT THE VOICES INSIDE PROGRAM

Voices Inside is a program that teaches theatre arts and uses creative thinking to establish compassion, trust, literacy and communication in the lives of those who are closed off behind bars. This program has been proven to help those who participate reintegrate into society and also promotes positive self-expression.
