Pendulum

Everyone knows that looks can be deceiving, and that's exactly what Norwegian paintor Line Gulsett reflects in many of her works, which are on show now in the exhibition 'Pendulum', her second solo show in Spain. You'll find a group of paintings that can be seen as quite disturbing in that within each apparently tranquil scene, Gulsett tends to bring in an element that shakes up the moment and makes the viewer feel that something bad is about to happen. Plus, one of her recurring themes is childhood, including kids' games, characterised by figures that are unfinished and captured in movement, which brings even more drama to the moment.
