Dave Holland performed his first concerts in the late '60s along with Tubby Hayes, Kenny Wheeler and Ronnie Scott – Scott being the owner and manager of London's historic Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club. Even back then, Miles Davis took notice of Holland, whose double bass and multiple rhythmic resources would kick off the masterful works of Davis's albums 'In a Silent Way' and 'Bitches Brew'.
