Time Out says

Stomp over to the Whitworth for the Manchester leg of The Big Wild Rumpus, a large scale event in honour of 'Where The Wild Things Are'.

The Big Wild Rumpus is a nationwide celebration of Maurice Sendak's widely love book 'Where The Wild Things Are', which sees wild things gather together in villages, towns and cities across the country for one day.

For the Manchester fesitivities, we're invited to make our way to the newly revamped Whitworth, where the gallery's Art Garden will host a 'read-along' session led by none other than local hero Maxine Peake. This will then be followed by an afternoon of creative family friendly activities

Either come dressed as your favourite wild thing from the book, or simply bring those crafty fingers to make a mask on the day.
