[Sponsored] Shop, dine and (most importantly) laugh when the Melbourne International Comedy Festival comes to Chadstone – The Fashion Capital

Everyone in Australia has heard of Chadstone – The Fashion Capital. The shopping, food and entertainment destination doesn’t do anything by half – when Chadstone does something it does it big. So when the precinct teams up with the Melbourne International Comedy Festival this April, you can be sure the entire complex will be shaking with big belly laughs.

Festival de Luxe is part of Chadstone’s four-week entertainment series landing on Saturday, April 6. Like the rest of Melbourne, Chadstone is ready to split its sides with laughter when Melbourne International Comedy Festival rolls into town – but not everyone can travel into the city to get their giggle on. That is why Chadstone’s Festival de Luxe is bringing the laughs closer to residents in the city’s southeastern suburbs.

The month-long laugh-stravaganza will bring down the house with a top-notch line-up of comedians from around Australia. For the first time, the Comedy Festival Showcase (April 6-7, 13-14 and 20-21) will be setting up shop in the Parlour at Chadstone for Festival de Luxe. Every weekend from April 6 to 21 guests can laugh till they cry, with the showcase on at 5.30pm on Saturdays and 3pm on Sundays. The show is hosted by the hilarious Dave Callan (as well as other special guest hosts), and you can expect to get giddy with some of the country’s top rib-tickling comedians.

Little laughers are catered for too, with sketch, circus and musical comedy. Almost every day over the school holidays kids will be treated to the Comedy Club for Kids (April 6-21, excluding Mondays and Good Friday) hosted by Tessa Waters and Josh Earl. Expect big smiles on small faces as the two comedians (plus a stack of kid-friendly comedic guests) delight the junior audience. Kids can also head along to the award-winning Children are Stinky show (April 6-21, excluding Mondays and Fridays). Watch as April Dawson and Kyle Raftery (who are coming to Melbourne following sold-out shows around the world) attempt to prove once and for all that kids are stinky creatures. We expect there will be some parents nodding along furiously during this show.

There’s nothing like a good giggle to work up an appetite, so Chadstone has partnered with restaurants for exclusive festival feast deals. There are more than 90 food retailers at Chadstone (did we mention Chadstone does everything big?), so no matter what you're craving, you’ll be able to find it.

Festival de Luxe is on from April 6 to 27, and tickets for the Comedy Festival Showcase, the Comedy Club for Kids and Children Are Stinky are on sale now. Festival de Luxe will also feature free entertainment from 4pm to 9pm every Saturday during April, with many of the shops open until late so you can sneak in some shopping too.
