This Melbourne Festival dance performance by leading Australian and Chinese artists is truly immersive
This dance piece features an all-star line-up of international creative talents: Australian recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey, Beijing’s Jun Tian Fang ensemble, Australian choreographer Gideon Obarzanek and UK composer Max de Wardener, with dancers from Beijing Dance Theatre and Australia's widely celebrated Dance North.
Melbourne Festival artistic director Jonathan Holloway said: "This is a wonderful collaboration. This brand-new work is a dance piece that plays with form, live music and choreographed by Gideon Obarzanek and featuring the Beijing Dance Theatre.
"Audiences will sit facing each other on either side of the stage and as immersive as this seems, the two sides of the stage become somewhat of a reflection as the performance goes on, taking the phrase ‘watch this space’ to a whole new level."
