Time Out says

Freya McGrath will dance for 24 hours straight as part of Melbourne Fringe – unless you step in to help her

We love a good endurance performance piece, but this one is taking things to the extreme. Freya McGrath is planning a durational performance. She will dance for 24 hours straight and won't eat, drink, rest or go to the bathroom unless an audience members steps in and dances in her place. Let's hope she at least sells some tickets.

McGrath's inspirations include 1980s movies and extreme performance art, which is why she describes the work as being a little like the love child of Kevin Bacon and Marina Abramovic.

“I believe dancing is an act of defiance in the face of a frightening world. When I dance, I am confident, I am fearless, I am present and I am powerful,” she says. “I want to test how far my love of dance can take me.”

You can buy a 24-hour pass and come and go as you please. And yes, you're very welcome to dance along.
