Time Out says

This year you won’t need to travel to enjoy the Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival

It’s about this time every year that film fans in Victoria might start packing their bags and heading to the Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival. With 2020 being what it is, the annual film festival is heading online this year, screening three films from July 17 to 19.

C-Doc in the Clouds (named as organisers view it as “a break in the clouds” of 2020) is this year’s iteration of the Castlemaine Documentary Film Festival. Like a good pasta sauce, the festival has been simmered down to a concentrated showcase of non-fiction films.

The 2020 program features three films. These include Picture Character (the story behind emojis and how they’re created), Into the Jungle (the tale of two Melbourne zookeepers and their fight to save the endangered Tenkile tree kangaroo in Papua New Guinea) and What is Democracy? (an exploration of democracy from ancient Greece to the current day’s refugee crisis). Each film is also followed by a panel discussion.

Tickets for C-Doc in the Clouds are now available.
