Time Out says

Six years after the launch of the original ‘Inbetweeners’ TV series, what are these four idiots currently in between, exactly? Maturity and middle age? Now that the lead actors are all well into their late twenties, the joke is starting to wear very thin: bad-taste gags that would have been just about bearable in the mouths of teenagers sound decidedly dodgy from men pushing 30.

Essentially replaying the plot of the first movie, this sequel sees the lads heading to Australia in search of willing foreign (insert offensive term for female genitals here), and landing in a whole world of trouble. Will (Simon Bird) is chasing manipulative posh totty and gets a shit in his eye, quite literally. Simon (Joe Thomas) is trying to break up with his psychotic girlfriend over Skype but ends up accidentally proposing. Jay (James Buckley) tracks down his backpacking ex (leading to the film’s one decent gag, about the meaning of the words ‘stud farm’). Meanwhile Neil (Blake Harrison) doesn’t seem to be doing anything except flashing his balls and saying ‘bants’ a lot.

‘The Inbetweeners 2’ is riddled with contempt: for its characters, for its audience and most notably for the entire female gender. That a film in 2014 can still get away with depicting all women as either dumb, hapless sluts or ball-busting harridans is frankly unbelievable.
