Time Out says

Live out your rock god fantasies on stage at Hamer Hall

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of playing to a live audience. Arts Centre Melbourne wants you to experience that feeling for yourself, launching an event for hundreds of guitarists to take to the stage at Hamer Hall.

Those Who Rock is calling guitarists of all skill levels to pick up their six-strings and join the big group performance happening at Hamer Hall this March. The project is being led by Joseph O’Farrell, a Melbourne- and London-based artist and musician known for his large-scale works that bring people together in a fun, playful way.

Novice rockers need not worry – Those Who Rock will be hosting rehearsals prior to the big night in venues across Melbourne. Starting in February, the rehearsals will teach guitarists how to play various songs. Head to Broadmeadows to learn Aussie classic ‘You’re the Voice’ by John Farnham or to Fitzroy to learn to play Joan Jett’s anthem ‘I Love Rock’n’Roll’.

After honing your skills at rehearsals participants will get to play ACDC’s ‘For Those About to Rock’ on stage at Hamer Hall. The entire program is free, and you can sign up to participate by contacting the Those Who Rock team by email (info@thosewhorock.com). Rehearsals will start in February.
