Lennox Hastie of Sydney's two-hatted Firedoor is coming down to Melbourne to cook with fellow ex-pat, Paul Wilson, for one night only. If Hastie sounds familiar, you've probably watched a load of cooking shows with him behind the coals in a little Basque, Michelin starred restaurant called Etxebarri. Clearly, Hastie's come home and opened his own fire-driven restaurant and redefined what it means to cook over coals.
Alongside Wilson, Hastie will deliver three courses in a six-course dinner with dishes like a cherry wood grilled quail with pomegranate, figs and sweet sausage; dry-aged beef rib with wood-grilled sugar loaf cabbage; and orange roasted mackerel with puntarella.
If you can't afford a trip to Sydney or Spain, this is a dinner not to be missed. Bookings are available directly through Wilson and Market.
