Time Out says

The free open-air live music series is returning to the District this January bringing good vibes to Melbourne’s vibrant Inner West precinct

Live music and summertime go hand-in-hand just like a refreshing beer and sunset. In the wise words of Taylor Swift, the good people from the District know this all too well, as District Live is once again returning to the area this summer, and we’re pretty excited about the line-up.

If you haven’t heard of it, District Live is a free, open-air live music series held at the District Docklands in the city and taking place every Saturday in January 2023 from 2-8pm, kicking off on January 7. This year’s weekly summertime event will feature headline acts including Yorta Yorta and Gunditjmara man and musician Isaiah Firebrace (Jan 7); the OG Red Wiggle DJ Murray Cook, who will be performing electronic hits with a blend of Wiggles remixes (Jan 14); rock royalty of Daddy Cool fame Ross Wilson (Jan 21); and Australia’s Eurovision 2021 singer Montaigne (Jan 28); as well as performances by some of the top up-and-coming and established local artists from Melbourne and Victoria including DJs, solo artists and bands.

As well as music, tasty food and drink pop-up stalls will be joining the 30 great venues already there in the precinct’s buzzing open-air laneways to ensure you and your mates are well-fed. Plus, expect activities throughout the day like Sip n Paint sessions, trivia, silent disco, giant outdoor games, a photobooth and a shimmer wall perfect for the ‘gram.

District Live is an inclusive event for all: it’s wheelchair friendly, Auslan Interpreters will be present for headliner setsWelcome to Country will be presented by local Elders and there will also be a dedicated quiet space if you’re needing some chillout time.

Parking is available at District Docklands, or opt to ride your bike along the new track on Footscray Road or catch the free tram service on Docklands Drive.

Take a seat on the grassy hill and watch the sun set over Melbourne’s CBD before heading to the dance floor to dance the night away. Find out more information here.
