The music and sports-loving folk at the Corner Hotel are putting their best feet forward this Grand Final weekend with two rockin’ parties: the Grand Final Eve Carpark Party and the Grand Final Day Backyard Bash.
The Corner will be open from 2pm on the Grand Final Eve public holiday (Fri Sep 29) for a ripper car park party featuring live music, games, tasty food truck eats and more. Henry Wagons and the Only Children, Freya Josephine Hollick and the Bluebottles will be around for an arvo session of tunes, and there will be ice cold beverages being served from their pop-up outdoor bar. It’ll be a family-friendly event with the staff overseeing some interactive games stations and face painting for the young ones. It’s gold coin entry, with the donation going to the Archie Roach Foundation.
Get rearing for the big dance on Saturday with the Corner’s backyard bash (Sat Sep 30). They’ll be setting up an outdoor pop-up bar, food trucks will be slinging food and a huge LCD screen is popping up in the pub’s carpark to show all the big game action from start to finish. It’ll be gold coin entry again with the donations on the day going towards Reclink. Expect about as much celebration as when Tony ‘Plugger’ Lockett kicked his 1300th goal back in ‘99.
