Head out east to feast on Melbourne best produce and more

Some of Melbourne's most famous hospitality figures are heading to Eastland Shopping Centre for Melbourne Food And Wine Festival this April. In what sounds like a foodie joke gone wrong, a sommelier, legendary foodie, and five top chefs are going to collaborate on a foodie's day out.

Expect a 20-stall Producers Market where you can do your weekly grocery shop from Victoria's best producers including Four Pillars Gin, Yarra Valley Dairy, and Uncle's Small Goods from Dandenong. The market is being curated by cooking legend Stephanie Alexander (The Cook's Companion) and food writer Richard Cornish, so it's bound to be a good one.

Need some wine to go with those groceries? Award-winning sommelier Banjo Harris Plane of Bar Liberty and Attica fame will be picking out good drops for the outdoor cellar door, while the Public Brewery will be setting up a beer and cider garden where Matt Wilkinson (Pope Joan) will be cooking whole beasts over fire to go with your frothies.

The real highlight is the cooking masterclasses by Melbourne's top chefs. Movida owner and head chef Frank Camorra, Huxtaburger's Daniel Wilson and 400 Gradi's Johnny di Francesco will be showing punters how to cook up a storm in the kitchen.
