Show your support for the #StopAdani movement by heading to Fed Square this weekend for a very special screening

Millions of people across Australia have stepped up to stop the huge Adani Carmichael coal mine from being built in Queensland’s Galilee Basin. This Saturday you can put those words into action by attending a screening of the documentary Guarding the Galilee on Federation’s Square’s big screen.

Guarding the Galilee is an inspiring doco that features interviews with the people on the front lines of the battle to #StopAdani. Narrated by Michael Caton, the film sees reef operators, graziers, dive instructors, environmentalists and more talk about the impacts of the proposed mine on the environment and community. If the proposed mine goes ahead, burning coal from this mega mine would generate billions of tonnes of pollution, fuel global warming and make irreversible damage to the Great Barrier Reef.

The event is put on by Stop Adani Melbourne, a community action group working towards stopping the Adani coal mine from being built. To cover the cost of booking Fed Square and running the event, they’re asking for supporters to visit their crowdfunding site.

BYO picnic rug or chair and head along on Saturday September 16 at 6.30pm to attend the screening.
