[Sponsored] Robyn Davidson, author of Tracks, and former SAS commander Mark Wales share their awe-inspiring stories
In this inspiring conversation hosted by Mercedes me Melbourne, two adventurers share their stories of incredible physical feats – and the remarkable mental resilience that made them possible. The first is writer and explorer Robyn Davidson, author of the best-seller Tracks. The book and subsequent 2013 feature film detailed her nine-month solo trek through the Australian desert, undertaken with four camels and her dog.
The second guest is Mark Wales, an ADF veteran with ten tours of duty under his belt. After serving as an elite troop commander in Afghanistan, he battled depression and stress disorders upon leaving the military. He applied the strategy and focus he learned on the battlefield to his recovery, and now educates others on leadership, teamwork and high performance. The duo will chat to journalist Mark Beretta about their respective journeys, and the mental fortitude required to get through them. Tickets are $10 and include a drink and snacks by St Ali.
