The Newstead Short Story Tattoo – located in the small north-western town of Newstead, near Castlemaine – is a festival of storytelling in all its forms. It's an opportunity for everyone from academics to musicans to share their work with eager audiences.
At the festival you can expect spoken word, performances, dance and songs. The festival has been going for more than five years now and regularly attracts some of Australia's best literati, commentators and creatives such as Christos Tsiolkas, Clementine Ford, Gary Foley, Richard Bell and Gareth Liddiard.
