Update: The Chef Showdown is a sell out! Stay tuned for the details of our next big event

Here at Time Out, we’re big believers in championing those who are making our city a better (and more delicious) place to live. It’s why we host our annual Food Awards – and it’s why we’re launching our newest competition: the Time Out Chef Showdown, in partnership with OpenTable

The Showdown is a chance for four up-and-coming chefs to test their culinary creations on the toughest critics out there – the diners! We put the word out to Melbourne's chef community, and have narrowed it down to our four finalists. Drum roll please...

First course: Zach Furst from Ides, making scallops with camomile.

Second course: Dylan Forte from Bomba, making steak tartare.

Third course: Punit Fernandes from Merrywell, making Milawa duck breast with pumpkin custard, duck snow, wood oak log shiitake and crumb.

Fourth course: Jo Barrett from Oakridge, making a dessert of Davidson plum, raspberry, peppermint gum and spelt.

Diners will enjoy this intriguing four-course meal, then vote for their favourite course. We'll be looking for originality, precision and of course, taste.

Keen to put your palate to the test? Tickets are limited, so hurry to secure your seat. For $60, you’ll get a four-course feast, a drink on arrival and plenty of good times at the CBD's favourite Peruvian restaurant, Pastuso.

This event is made possible thanks to OpenTable: all your restaurant booking needs sorted.
