Try the Dragon Egg dessert at Sake Restaurant & Bar
Let's get straight into this, then. What you're looking at is a liquid nitrogen white chocolate egg, with mandarin, crystallised ginger and almond, sitting on a biscuit base with berries. Cracking open into one of these beauties is an experience not to be missed – plus, it'll look great on your Instagram feed. For December only, Japanese eatery Sake is offering this dessert as part of any set menu you order. At the Yarra River-adjacent Hamer Hall restaurant, you could treat yourself to the Chef's Selection Omakase set menu, where you'll enjoy seven courses of elegant Japanese fare; and on Flinders Lane, you could order a nine-course feast designed specifically for your preferences. This offer is running at Sake's Flinders Lane and Hamer Hall locations. Bookings are highly recommended.

The Canberra Hit List
Canberra used to be the punchline of jokes: known only for porn, politicians and legal fireworks. Now the fireworks are restricted and there are far more stimulating things happening outside the adult shops than on their shelves. Canberra in the twenty-teens boasts hipper hotels than Sydney, excellent cafés, some of the best galleries and museums in the country, and, of course, the chance to pick up leaked Federal documents from behind the couch at popular public servant boozers. Because some things never do change. Tigerair's great value daily direct flights between Melbourne and Canberra launch December 8, book one today.
