Lafayette's Music Room says
The Cassette Set formed when the Moodys, Seth and Coco, moved to Memphis. Previously, Seth had performed a show in his hometown of Wilmington, North Carolina with none other than Memphis rocker Jack Oblivian and his bandmate Graham Winchester. After a chance meeting and collaborating several times, the Memphis boys convinced the Moody's to come to town.
After playing dozens of shows in the past year, Cassette Set has formed a large set of all 70's and 80's songs. The band prides itself on playing hit songs from those eras that live bands don't usually touch: songs such as "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Heart of Glass."
The element of raw Memphis rock added to otherwise glamorous cover songs creates a unique, new sound. Coco's lead vocals and Seth's surfy guitar form a powerful bond with Winchester's basslines and Jack Oblivian's signature garage rock drums. Cassette Set performs shows at venues, parties and weddings all over Memphis.
