One of the great downtown South Main traditions, the Downtown Olympics! This is the official Downtown Olympics event page where you can get all your information on the upcoming 2016 DTO. 16 teams competing in beer drinking Olympic games for medals and bragging rights. Also, proceeds are going towards UBFM (Urban Bicycle Food Ministry)!!

To participate:
-Must have a team of 4 total, allowed to have a back up member in case someone can't make it.
-1 team member must reside in (38103 or 38104 or 38105) or work downtown.
-$140 paid by each team BEFORE the event starts
-Team must sign waiver form before event starts
-Teams must provide these things:
-TRICYCLE, uniforms, relay race baton, flag, and anthem

*Opening ceremony
1. Beer Relay Race
2. Beer Pong
3. Corn hole
4. Tricycle Race
5. Synchronized Drinking

DTO rules:

Bar relay race: Must drink entire beer inside bar and confirmed by judge before running to next bar and passing baton. No running inside the bars! Bars are in this order: Cafe Pontotoc, SOB, Rizzos, Max's, finish at Double J.

Beer Pong: 6 cups, 1 re-rack allowed, bouncing allowed, no "blowing or fingering", single elimination. Teams of 2.

Corn hole: Teams play till 11. First team to 11 wins. 3 points in the hole, 1 point on the board. Points cancel each other out. Single elimination. Teams of 2. No resets allowed.

Tricycle Race: One player rides half the stretch of the course. Another player rides second half of course. Race until finish line. Tricycles must be traditional. Front wheel must be larger than rear wheel. Front wheel(including tire) no larger than 16". Pedal only.

Synchronized Drinking: The entire team gets on stage and does a skit while drinking beer. Skit can only be 1 minute 30 seconds total. Music must be playable from a portable device(iPod,iPhone, etc) that team provides. Must be drinking beer throughout the skit. At least one beer per person must be drank by the end of the skit.

The most important rule of them all: Have fun, be safe, and drink beer!

There are 5 judges that overseer the entire event. They have the final decision in any matter.
