Made in Dixon returns to the Mallory/Wurtzburger series to exhibit artwork created in the Dixon’s eighteen educational programs. Works from artists of all ages celebrate the Dixon’s commitment to our community through education in the visual arts. In addition to perennial favorites, the exhibition will include a variety of media from the Dixon’s newest programs for children, Kaleidoscope Club and SmART Kids. Art Break, offered over fall break, is another newcomer to the Made in Dixon lineup.

Dixon educational programs take place in the galleries and gardens, but also in the greater Memphis community via outreach programs for children, teens, adults, students, and teachers. The Dixon works directly with Shelby County teachers through the Teacher Portfolio Workshop and the Teacher In-Service program, and Made in Dixon will display the results of those workshops. Many of the inspiring works on view are from participants flourishing in the Teen Studio, Mosaics, and Exceptional Art programs. Made in Dixon is a colorful toast to their creative spirit and proof of the difference the Dixon’s educational programs makes in the Memphis area.
