Did you know?

You are more likely to encounter someone experiencing an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. This could be a friend, a family member, a coworker, or a neighbor.

The good news: you can help them.

Mental Health First Aid teaches a 5-step action plan to offer initial help to people with the signs and symptoms of a mental illness or a crisis. This course equips you with the tools to connect them with the appropriate professional, peer, social, or self-help care.

Church Health Center Behavioral Health will facilitate this two-part course for free to the community. The first session will take place Friday, May 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. The second session is Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Space is limited to 30 participants. To register, please submit your name, email address, and phone number to Denise Hensley at or (901) 701-2309.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, May 11.
