Time Out says

James Beard Award winner Norman Van Aken elevates the unassuming tomato pie at his first-ever stand-alone pizza joint. Beach Pie is a continuance of Mundo, Van Aken’s globally inspired restaurant that opened in Coral Gables in the mid-aughts. The thin-crust pizzas (chewy with a bit of pull in the dough) are topped with “drunken figs,” which are macerated for hours in port wine, as well as Taleggio, vegan cashew cheese, fresh, Redlands-sourced vegetables and other lip-smacking ingredients. For the skeptics who may not know Van Aken as a pizza guy, you will become a believer after just one slice.
