The name of the restaurant refers to the Mediterranean-style kebabs called lula, made from ground lamb, chicken or beef, grilled on a skewer and dusted in tart sumac powder, served with thinly sliced onions. Other chef's specials to try are Georgian spicy lamb stew with rice and fresh herbs, dumpling soup, cold beet soup with sour cream and dill and Crimean half-moon chebureki (pies) stuffed with juicy ground lamb. There are also Georgian eggplant rolls stuffed with ground walnuts, pickled herring with hot potato slices, whole crispy butterflied Cornish hens, and blini with salmon caviar. Save room for the sweet blini stuffed with apple jam or cream cheese and cherries.
