Playing up its Asian heritage, the ultra-luxe hotel Mandarin Oriental, Miami rings in the Chinese New Year with over a week of special Year of the Metal Rat programming. Make your way through the lobby, adorned with over 100 red lanterns and a giant lucky kumquat tree, to MO Bar + Lounge, which will serve a traditional dim sum buffet nightly from 5 to 8pm. On Saturday, celebrations reach their peak with a traditional lion dance performance—said to bring good luck to households and the businesses they visit—accompanied by a percussive musical performance complete with drums, cymbals and gongs.
