Timothy Carroll launches his new book Service Changes, with additional readings by Jessica Van Gilder, Michael G. Dean, and Jason David Peterson

---

Join us for the launch of local poet's book Service Changes! Service Changes examines the Great Recession years through binoculars with one lens focused on an individual's quest for worth while employment and the other on the global market and America's wars.

---

Timothy Carroll received his MFA in Poetry from Brooklyn College in 2010. His first collection of poetry, Service Changes explores the human experience of employment during the Recession years as well as the global events that will surely come to frame this time in history. Some of the poems in Service Changes were first published in Penny-Ante Feud, Clockwise Cat, and the Brooklyn Review. Along with his wife and son, Tim currently lives in Minneapolis where he works as an advocate for the poor and disabled.

Jessica Van Gilder founded the Twin Cities Workshop four years ago after leaving the West Coast for a Midwest adventure. Jessica's writing explores the quirks of existence through a fantastical lens. Her graduate studies focus on how narrative functions, and she enjoys helping fellow writers advance their work's potential at Click Clack Writing.

Michael G. Dean has wandered all his life. He has lived everywhere between Tokyo and Minneapolis. He has worked at everything from furniture mover to public policy analyst. He drives, walks, and flies whenever possible, it does not matter where. But through it all, above it all, Michael has seen the bright lights of poetry. His first book of poems, Seashells, was published this year by Distillate Press.

Jason David Peterson was born and raised in Minnesota. He received his Masters in English at the University of Wisconsin with an emphasis in creative writing, and recently completed his second collection. Jason's poetry has been recognized in the back alleys of literature with scholarships, nominations, and awards in Canada and the U.S.
